Project Descriptions

COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES

Claremont Graduate School, Peter Drucker Center - Claremont, California

ISDG, with other teams in a design competition, created the voice/data/video systems for the new cornerstone building in the Drucker Center, incorporating the design of executive video teleconferencing center and a full audio-visual system for the facility's large lecture halls.

Maricopa County Community Colleges - Arizona

ISDG is the technical consultant for new and modernization projects on seven campuses representing a total cost budget in excess of $80 million dollars.  ISDG is responsible for design and contract documents on voice, data, video, audiovisual, multi-media, and security systems.  ISDG served as consultant for Estrella Mountain Community College, Gateway Community College, Glendale Community College, Phoenix Community College, Pima Community College, Scottsdale Community College, and South Mountain Community College.

Gateway Community College- Phoenix, Arizona

New medical technical training facility.  ISDG was retained to provide extensive consulting and design services for voice, data, CATV distribution, nurse call, paging and multi-media auditorium systems for this 40,000 square ft. facility.  The  facility will provide pre- medical vocational training in medical systems ranging from medical records to physical respiratory therapy  to nuclear medicine.

Pomona Colleges - Claremont, California

    Andrews Laboratory Building, Pomona College

ISDG was retained by the college to assist the architectural team in the design and specification of voice, data, video, security, and audiovisual systems for this new 28,000 sf, astronomy, math, physics and computer science laboratory building.  The project includes the design of multi-media and sound reinforcement, audiovisual systems for classrooms, and labs and establishing criteria for multi-staged lighting systems in all spaces.

Alexander Administration Building, Hahn Social Sciences Building,

Smiley Dormitory, Weingart Hal, Pomona College

ISDG designed complex voice/data wiring and cabling system to completely network these buildings and resources both on-and off-campus including a centralized wiring plan for video and audiovisual systems and environmental requirements for computer facilities.

Keck Social Science Center, Pomona College

ISDG designed the technology systems and supporting infrastructure for this 45,000 SF multi-use building.  The ground floor includes a 14,000 SF conference center that is equipped with a number of audiovisual and multimedia systems that allow the space to be utilized extensively for video teleconferencing and satellite down-linked professional seminars.

Los Angeles Southwest College

ISDG was retained by local community college to help develop a master plan to upgrade several buildings on the campus.  Work includes the Voice and Data systems, CATV distribution system, CCTV and physical security systems.  ISDG developed acceptable product lists, equipment locations, and a methodology to tie the systems into the campus-wide cable backbone.

Buildings included as part of the work are:

Cox Building

Lecture Lab Building

Technical Education Building

University of Arizona - Tucson, Arizona

ISDG served as Consultant for integration of all high technology services and networks for the new 10,000 student campus which was scheduled for completion in 1996.  ISDG, as part of the architectural team, designed new state-of-the-art high technology underground classroom facilities on the existing UA campus.

University of California, Santa Cruz - Santa Cruz, California

Campus-wide Energy Management System - UCSC

ISDG conducted a study to develop specifications for the replacement of the University's computer controlled Centralized Energy Conservation and Management Systems  (CECMS) utilizing extensive use of co-generation systems and a campus-wide energy conservation program.  ISDG coordinated the installation of this system in conjunction with a project for construction of a new Marine Science Center.

Earth and Marine Science Building, Science Library - UCSC

ISDG designed the technology systems and supporting infrastructures for both of these projects.  Additionally, ISDG worked with UCSC staff to utilize these projects to replace the hardwired campus-wide energy management system with a new system that provided a LAN-based control system.

Both of these projects, being of 325,000 SF and 475,000 SF respectively, included extensive use of technology systems to support conferences, professional seminars, and distance learning activities in 500 and 750 seat auditoriums, and seven large meeting rooms that ranged from 2,500 SF to 12,000 SF.

Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute - New Mexico

ISDG designed the technology systems and infrastructure for the new campus located some 25 miles outside of Albuquerque.  The building includes a 15,000 SF “high bay” space that was designed to accommodate small trade shows and manufacturer seminars.

University of San Diego - San Diego, California

CCTV Security Master Plan and Parking Structure Security

ISDG was retained by University of San Diego to develop a master plan to upgrade the campus CCTV security system. ISDG developed acceptable product lists, equipment locations, and a methodology to tie the cameras into the campus-wide fiber optic backbone.

Concurrent with the development of the CCTV master plan, ISDG was retained to design a CCTV security system for a new 5 story parking structure on the University of San Diego campus.

In conjunction with designing the CCTV system for this facility, ISDG re-designed the campus CCTV headend and dispatch office to meet the requirements identified in the Master Planning Process.
